After graduation from Augustana College, Cindy worked as a special education teacher for several years. She began working at the University of Minnesota providing psycho-education services to children on the autism spectrum. In 1978, she began with Children’s Health Care – MN, helping to develop the Exceptional Children With Communication and Interaction Disorders Program. Cindy became licensed as a psychologist in Minnesota in 1985. Cindy moved into private practice in 1990 providing specialized diagnostic and therapy services to a wide range of clients, including those on the Autism Spectrum with complex mood disorders. Cindy continues to provide individual and family therapy services as well as Intensive Outpatient Therapy Groups.
Cindy has provided consultations to many agencies across the country including hospitals, treatment programs, schools and other social service and health care programs. Cindy has presented locally and nationally on a wide range of topics related to mental health, family therapy and collaborative care. Cindy has served on a number of boards and committees with agencies that provide mental health care.
Cindy is known for providing quality customized services that offer a collaborative approach to care.
Cindy has received a number of awards and honors for her work. Cindy was recently awarded the NAMI MN Provider of the year award and also received the community service provider award from Minnesota Independence and Community College.
